For the first time in the open age’s history the club played a double header allowing for 2 squads to have a run out on the same day (17th August 2019). Playing a reserve squad in the merit league followed on by the first team in their Div 5 league match.

Game 1: Garforth 26 – 24 Kings Cross

Seeing 9 under 16’s taking part for the Garforth reserve squad. 4 of the 5 tries coming from the young lads who held their own throughout the match.

Game 2: Garforth 10 – 24 Dodworth

A tough game against newly crowned league leaders with 1 of the under 16’s stepping up. This game allowed Garforth to see the improvement in the squad after being heavily beaten by them at Dodworth earlier in the season.

A truly great day for the club and the sport as 40 lads pulled a Garforth Tigers shirt on and stepped onto the pitch.
